Hey Oppolandians, guess what? I’M GETTING A NEW PUPPY!
This little wonder is coming home with me this weekend. I have a 12 year-old black Lab and I figured it was time she had a friend. Also, knowing full well that imma be an emotional mess when I inevitably lose my dog, the new puppers is going to be a huge help. My hope is she’ll keep the older dog more active and that the puppy will “learn” from my dog.
It’s really hard to focus on work today :)

Labs are freaking awesome dogs. Ridiculously great personalities. I could tell a lot of stories about the two my dad and his wife used to have.
FYI for your current dog - Labs are full of energy, and can still be pretty puppy-like at the age of 4.

My 12 year old lab is STILL pretty puppyish. There’s a reason they are affectionately called “Labradorks” haha

Labradork is kinda accurate, yeah - and I mean that in the best possible way.
They’re just silly fun. But they are fiercely protective should the need arise, too. That playful bark takes on a whole different tone if someone were to go after you.

Hooray, more doggos! Congratulations!
I want to get another pupper for my pupper, because she’s always so much more relaxed when another dog’s around, but she’s already almost too big for our little apartment. Maybe someday if we move to a cheaper town...

Congrats! I’ve heard lots of stories of people being really happy they got a puppy when they had an older dog.

Aww, who’s got big paws? who’s got those big paws??
As a Lab owner I laugh when other dog owners say their pups are picky eaters..

Lol so you’ve tried to feed your doggo a grape, or beef stew with peas in it?

How to give a Lab a pill:
Step 1: Call dog
Step 2: Toss treat in air
Step 3: Toss pill in air

Grapes are out- no beuno, that’s why raisins are out as well. Our Pupper gets peas out of the garden by herself if you leave the gate open;
She tries everything, lettuce gets spit back out, but it still gets tried..

Congrats. Two dogs is a good number of dogs.

Yeah, grapes freak them out.
And ours could wolf a whole bowl of beef stew in about 9 seconds, and leave 3-4 shiny clean peas behind. Like they had been washed.

Man, if she was any sweeter, Philadelphia would tax her by the ounce.

Aww, we always had Labs growing up, my uncle bred them off and on. Beauregard was mine.
